What I can remember is that (I think) I have not lived to any of those resolutions.
These are my resolutions for this year: 1. Save 2. Be more patient when dealing with other people
3. Reachout
4. Give my best in everything that I do
Please, please! Grant me the strength...
I am going to write these down in my new Starbucks Planner (thanks to Aldrin) so I can remind myself that I have to save and be a better person, today, and the next 360 days. Happy New Year, everyone! How Fairies live and die
James Matthew Barrie (Peter, in Peter Pan, act 1)-- "When the first baby laughed for the first time, the laugh broke into a thousand pieces and they all went skipping about, and that was the beginning of fairies. And now when every new baby is born its first laugh becomes a fairy. So there ought to be one fairy for every boy or girl."
James Matthew Barrie (Peter, in Peter Pan, act 1)-- "Every time a child says, 'I don't believe in fairies,' there is a fairy somewhere that falls down dead."
I got this info from Mau, another fairy in disguise. :)
Have you been so fascinated with something and you almost believe that their real? I guess I am... with fairies... ummm. and Hogwarts? (You find that crazy, don't you? I do too. hehehe)
Cooking 101There's a saying here in the Philippines that a woman is ready to get a husband (and raise a family, eventually) if she knows how to cook.
A few days ago, I have been craving for pasta carbonara. Not able to fight the craving, I decided to use my cooking skills (which i tell you, is very inadequate), and get this hunger over.
I searched the internet for the recipe, and on my way home, shopped for the ingredients. (The dish is Tuna Carbonara, by the way). I slept, then woke up the next day.
Excited with my project, Iturned my radio on and started on preparing the ingredients... chopped the onions... sliced the pepper... opened a can of tuna... etcetera. My concentration intense.
After 30 mins, voila! My very own tuna carbonara. The pasta looked delicious so I dug my fork into saucepan and tasted it.
Is it normal that despite of your craving, you will suddenly lose your appetite if you are the one who cooked your own food? I don't cook so I am not sure of this. But it is what my friends are saying.
I tasted too much cheese, and ate only a portion of what I cooked. Then my sister and her husband ate the rest.
After my kitchen adventure, I think I will just settle for red spaghetti for now.
As for cooking as basis for women, I say, a woman is ready to get married if she can cook, or has lots of money to hire a cook. Random ThoughtsAs much as possible, I refrain from posting negative entries here. Just like what I have read on Chris' space before, we all have something to worry about, so I don't want to burden you with mine. Sorry, I just need to pour my thoughts and feelings today. This is a Pensieve, anyway.
This morning, while I was reading Lestat's entry about Peter Pan-ing (a very nice entry, BTW), I received a text message from my brother saying that we have to go to Red Cross and get 2 bags of blood for my father. Then, another message from my sister: Daddy needs two bags of blood. Will you donate?
OF COURSE I WILL!
"Shux! how is he? How come we didn't know about it sooner?"
Yeah, I panicked. But then, they forgot to mention that the blood will only be reserved this coming sunday, in case the doctor says that blood transfusion is needed. Relief!
When I was in college, one of the school fraternity organized a Bloodletting Campaign. I wanted to participate and donate blood, but I got scared. Despite of that, I promised myself that I will get over my fear and do it.
I sincerely wanted to help people this way. I said that I won't get a tattoo because that might poison my blood.
Now I feel weird thinking that my first blood donation will be for my father. Maybe I'm just being emotional. Yeah, I think I am.
Things that I realized about myself today: 1. I am a paranoid 2. I am still a crybaby. 3. I also want to donate my liver when I die. 4. After reading Peter Pan-ing, I realized that I really need to practice Peter Pan-ing more often. 5. I don't to work this coming Sunday so I could be with my family.
